Communications Division

The Communications Division is located at 13600 Murphy Road, Stafford, Texas, in the Facilities Building. That 's just 1/2 mile north of US. Hwy. 90 on the west side of Murphy Road.

The Communications Division, which numbers four full-time and several part-time employees, is responsible for documenting all calls for service. In addition, the Communications Division monitors video surveillance equipment, assists with the recording of offense reports, and maintains records on the various alarm systems within the district.

The Communications Officer is aided by Computerized Automated Dispatch, which enables both accurate and precise recording of police activity and rapid record retrieval for 43 sworn officers. In addition to CAD, the communications officer has direct access to our in-house computer system, Report Exec, as well as the national and state law enforcement computer networks (NCIC/TCIC) along with the Southeast Texas Information Computer (SETCIC).

It is the Police Department's policy that community members, students, and faculty should call whenever they see anything that makes them feel uneasy or they believe they have discovered a crime. Anything from a crime in progress, to a suspicious person, to an open school door, can and should be reported.

The Communications Division is operational 24 hours a day.  During the week the building is locked at 5:00 p.m., however there is a speaker phone just outside the entrance where a person can call to get information or gain remote access to the building after normal hours.
